At Past & Present Creations, we specialize in creating authentic and intricate costumes for historical productions, reenactments, personal use and other special events. Our team is dedicated to one thing, researching and recreating the fashions of various historical eras, from medieval times to the present. We can assist you in planning your garment or your event to create a truly immersive look and or environment.
In addition to our costume design services, we also offer historical fashion show events that transport audiences back in time with a runway showcase of our designs. These events are perfect for museums, historical societies, and other organizations looking to add an educational and entertaining component to their events.
From the fabrics and trims to the finishing details, we pay attention to every aspect of historical accuracy in our costumes. Let us help bring your historical project or event to life with our expertise and attention to detail.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Tracie L. Arnold and I have been on the web since 1997. I started my online presence with the website moviegowns.com and over time evolved that site to Past & Present Creations. You may have come accross pictures of my work and garments on many different websites. I am a self-taught Seamstress/Master Tailor/Fashion Show Creator, Event Planner and Nurse. I've been sewing and creating from the young age of 7 and really took an interest in Historical fashion in late 1980's. I am the owner and Primary designer of Past & Present Creations offering historical reproductions and specialize in movie reproductions. I also coordinate and present historical themed events for hotels, tea rooms and private events. The film Titanic started it all when I produced a replica of the infamous "Jump Dress" from the film for an event I was attending, and the rest is as they say, history! I am lucky to have a team of ladies who have been a big part how my business evolved over the years. Let us bring our reproductions, knowledge, expertise and insight to you. Let us enhance, add excitement and interest your historical events through our designs and creativity.
Assistant Extraordinaire, Seamstress, Opera singer and Actor. Kim joined PPC in 2006 working remotely as my front office manager and assistant via the web (before teleworking was a thing) and has evolved into another creative designer and event coordinator. We met through the web when she contacted me to make a reproduction for her for a historical event she was attending. That order and her coming on board eventually led to her introducing me to the organizers of the Somewhere in Time Weekend event held at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, MI, as well as an introduction to an acting troupe I partnered with on many shows and events where we produced specific historical fashion shows. Her entertainment knowledge and organizational skills helped grow a garment business into an entertainment business as well.
Gifted Seamstress, General Contractor, Nurse and pretty much a jack of all trades. Lisa joined PPC in 2009. We met at a Regency fashion show Tea Room Event I was presenting. We had a long conversation after the show about historical fashion and I somehow convinced her to join my company as a partner in the creation of reproductions for many years. Lisa brings to the table innovation, creativity and a "We can do that" attitude that helped drive me ever forward into areas I never thought our business would go, as well as drove me to careers I never thought I would explore. (Hence the nursing degree we both hold). Because we all have different gifts the blend of minds makes for a most creative environment. Lisa can build just about anything from textiles to an actual building. No Joke!
